Santa Maria
Navarrese, a fraction of the municipality of Baunei, is located on the
central-eastern coast of Sardinia, where one can find magnificent spots such as
Cala Sisine, Cala Mariolu and Cala Goloritzé.
The church
of Santa Maria di Navarra and the Spanish tower represent the historical
memory of the village. From the terrace overlooking the gulf, there is a
breathtaking view of the small harbour.
Among the
most beautiful places in its vicinity are: Cala
Sisine, the pearl of the Gulf of Orosei; Cala Mariolu, with its
shallow waters; Cala Follò; Cala Goloritzè, which combines the
turquoise of its waters with the white beach; and finally, Cala Luna, considered among the most beautiful beaches in the
Mediterranean.
The
Mediterranean maquis, clustered in a thicket of centuries-old holm oaks,
junipers and pines, overlooks the shores of the sea. The mouflon, the queen's hawk,
the golden eagle and the Corsican seagull have chosen this place
to keep their species alive.
In the
surrounding area, one can observe the beauty of the Baunei area, characterised by its limestone ramparts overlooking
the sea and the expanses of sea.
