Ogliastra, kingdom of Cannonau
Ogliastra is the undisputed reign of Sardinia's best-known native grape variety, Cannonau.
In fact, it was thought to have been imported from Spain, but recent studies have shown that this vine is 100 per cent indigenous, and is also the oldest in Sardinia.
Among the best known and most important wineries in Sardinia is that of the ‘Antichi Poderi di Jerzu’.
The Antichi Poderi di Jerzu are a cooperative of 430 winegrowing members.
Other interesting realities are those of Cantina Ogliastra, in Tortolì; and Vigna de' Loceri, in Loceri.
