Culurgiones, the pasta symbol of Sardinia
Is culurgiones: the Sardinian pasta that has been the symbol of the island since 1800Is culurgiònes (also called culurgiònis, culurzònes in the Sardinian language, in italiano culurgiòne) are a stuffed pasta (raviolo type) from Sardinia.They are typical of Ogliastra with variations in the filling from area to area, e.g. in Bari sardo the filling consists of potatoes, cheese and mint. While in Tortolì it is made from potatoes, onions, and a little cheese.Since 2015 , ‘Culurgiones d'Ogliastra’ have been recognised as a PGI product, or ‘Protected Geographical Indication Product’.
